Harrier, 35, met Jarou, a French freelance creative consultant, at a Los Angeles dinner in 2019. They maintained a private relationship before Harrier confirmed their engagement in September 2022, describing the proposal as “really simple and sweet in Paris.” She told Cosmopolitan, “I never wanted one of those big showy public engagements. That’s just not my personality.”
Reflecting on the engagement, Harrier said, “The cliché of ‘when you know, you know.’ I never really believed it until that happened to me.” She added, “I also really do believe that you need to be ready within yourself before you can find somebody else to be with.”
Harrier noted Jarou was “the first man I’ve dated where I’ll actually listen when he gives me outfit advice,” referencing his fashion background. The couple remained together during a brief period of public speculation in December 2024, when fans misinterpreted a social media post involving actor Shameik Moore.
Moore had posted an old video of himself with Harrier captioned “Coming soon.” Harrier responded via TikTok, saying, “I’m literally engaged, and that’s important to me.” She explained she had asked Moore to delete the post, clarifying she disliked “the insinuation that something’s going on between us, if that was your intention.” Moore deleted the video and issued a public apology on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “I mean no harm. I have no ill intent.”
