Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood have split opinions on SNL’s The White Potus parody of their HBO series. Their contrasting reactions emerge while fans speculate if The White Lotus stars are having a feud since they unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Walton Goggins reacts to SNL Parody of The White Lotus
The White Lotus stars Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood do not have the same reaction towards SNL’s comedic sketch of the show. Goggins took to Instagram to call the sketch “smashing” in all caps and later deleted the story.
Previously, Wood had expressed her displeasure with the sketch, calling it “unfunny.” Wood explained her stance, writing on Instagram, “I am not thin skinned.” She added that she appreciates a joke when “it’s clever and in good spirits.” However, the SNL sketch did not hit the mark for Wood. She wrote, “The joke was about fluoride. I have big gap teeth, not bad teeth” (via The New York Times).
On another post, Wood also mentioned that she has received “apologies” from the SNL team. Meanwhile, Goggins apparently also left a comment on the Instagram upload of the sketch, writing, “Hahahahahhahaha Amazzzingggg.” The comment is not visible to the public anymore, which might mean that Goggins has deleted it along with his Instagram story (via Today).
Additionally, the HBO show’s fandom is buzzing with the rumor that Goggins and Lou Wood are not on the best of terms in their personal equation. Days after the third season of The White Lotus concluded, Goggins and Wood apparently unfollowed each other (via Cosmopolitan).
However, Goggins has also posted a lengthy tribute to his and Wood’s characters on Instagram. The 53-year-old actor gushed, “Thank you, Aimee Lou, for being my partner… a journey I will never forget.”
He also reflected on Rick and Chelsea’s love story on the show. The Fallout star noted, “Rick + Chelsea. With the heaviest of hearts… To me, ours was a love story. It was only ever a love story, hindered by unresolved, childhood trauma. We all have them… but can we move past them. In the depths of our despair there is always beauty around us.”
