Rumors are circulating that singer-songwriter Chris Brown and actress Karrueche Tran are dating again, and people are wondering whether it is true. The pair initially began dating in 2011 and had an on-again, off-again relationship before Tran ended things between them in the mid-2010s.

A video circulating online shows Brown interacting with Tran and Teyana Taylor at the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. This has led to speculation that the pair has resumed their relationship. However, neither Brown nor Train has addressed these speculations by the time of this article’s composition and are not confirmed to be dating again.
During an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, Tran spoke about her first meeting with Brown. “I met Chris, actually, on a styling job. I was a personal assistant to a stylist. That was the direction I was going in my career,” she said. “I was on this job. We met. You know, he did his whole charming thing. The base of our relationship started as us just being friends. It was work related,” she further stated. Tran clarified that she and Brown didn’t become sexually intimate at the time, before adding, “Then, you know, I got into my emotions and I fell in love with him.” (via E! News)
In 2017, Tran approached a Santa Monica court seeking a restraining order against Brown, which she was granted, with Brown being told that he must maintain at least a hundred yards’ distance from her and several people close to her.
The restraining order, which was in effect for five years, has expired. It’s unclear whether the pair had been in contact before their above-mentioned meeting at Coachella.
Notably, Tran has also dated Migos rapper Quavo and former NFL wide receiver Victor Cruz. Meanwhile, Brown had a tumulous relationship with singer Rihanna between 2007 and 2009. It concluded with a domestic violence case that led to Brown receiving five years of probation. He and Rihanna later briefly resumed their relationship but broke up again in 2013. Brown also dated model Jasmine Sanders.
