Josh Duhamel comments on Fergie divorce
Josh Duhamel described has himself as a “work in progress” following his divorce from Fergie in 2019. The couple, who were married for eight years before separating in 2017, have maintained an amicable relationship while raising their 11-year-old son, Axl Jack.
Duhamel admitted that their different lifestyles played a major role in their split. During an appearance on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2023, he explained that he never fully embraced the Hollywood lifestyle, which contributed to their growing apart. “I don’t think I ever really got comfortable with all of it,” he said, referring to the glitz and glamour of fame. “I just missed the simplicity of who I really am.”
Despite their differences, Duhamel holds no resentment toward his ex-wife. “I made peace with that part of my life. She and I have a great relationship,” he shared. “There wasn’t anything wrong with it. We had a great time. I think we kind of outgrew each other and had very different interests.” He also praised Fergie, calling her a “kind human” and expressing gratitude for their time together. “I’ve got no hard feelings for it. I truly don’t.”
Since the divorce, Duhamel has remarried. He tied the knot with Audra Mari, Miss World America 2016, in September 2022. The couple welcomed their first child together, son Shepherd Lawrence, earlier this year. Referencing their lifestyle in contrast to Fergie, Duhamel said, “It really got me back in touch. There’s something about it that fulfills the soul in a lot of ways.”
