Who Is Rhod Gilbert’s Wife, Sian Harries & What Is Their Relationship History?

Welsh comedian Rhod Gilbert’s wife has been a source of support for him throughout their decade-long relationship, including during his battle with cancer. Defying celebrity norms, the couple has been refreshingly open about their personal challenges — even producing a documentary on their struggles with infertility.

Who is Rhod Gilbert’s wife?

Rhod Gilbert’s wife’s name is Sian Harries. The celebrity couple tied the knot in August 2013 in his native West Wales. They do not have any children together and have been open about their journey with infertility.

The 56-year-old TV personality has pointed out that conversations around male infertility are still uncommon. In the BBC documentary Rhod Gilbert: Stand Up to Infertility, he reveals that doctors directed most of the dialogue at his wife, even though they later discovered that his low sperm count was the issue.

Gilbert shares in the documentary, “Siân would always be the one sat next to [the doctor or nurse], and I sat next to her. The discussion was always with her. Men are not the focus for the fertility industry at all.” (via Telegraph)

Rhod Gilbert and Sian Harries’ relationship explained

Gilbert and his wife, Sian Harries, have been together for over 12 years as a married couple. In 2020, they launched their own podcast, The Froth. As Gilbert and Harries both work in comedy, fans expected the new podcast to be quirky, and they did not disappoint.

The podcast’s description reads, “a spa-break for the mind, far away from the relentless, depressing serious news cycle, only tackling the frothiest of life’s frothy stuff – Yesterday’s Non-News, Today.”

Gilbert and Harries have gone through some challenging phases together, including the former’s cancer battle. The stand-up comedian once shared his true feelings regarding his health struggles and Harries, who was his biggest supporter.

He shared that Harries did not want to be in the Channel 4 documentary about his cancer. He told Radio Times, “She didn’t want to be in the doc, it was too much to look after me and to also be on camera. The caring for me was enough, which I appreciate.”
