Candace Cameron Bure & Robin Thicke Share Connection From Childhood

Actress Candace Cameron Bure, who recently appeared on Fox’s reality competition series The Masked Singer as Cherry Blossom until her elimination, has revealed in a new interview that singer-songwriter and record producer Robin Thicke was her “first crush.” Thicke is part of the show’s panel of star judges, alongside actor and comedian Ken Jeong, media personality Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, and recording artist Rita Ora.

Candace Cameron Bure exited The Masked Singer Season 13 in its seventh week. She later disclosed her past connection with Thicke during an interview with Us Weekly. “Robin and I have known each other since we were kids, and he was honestly my first crush,” Bure explained. “I think we were boyfriend and girlfriend for, like, a week. We were 12 years old!”

The actress is arguably best known for portraying D.J. Tanner on Full House and its sequel series, Fuller House. She also appeared as D.J. Tanner in one episode of the ABC sitcom Growing Pains, which featured Thicke’s father, Alan Thicke, as Dr. Jason Roland Seaver and Bure’s brother, Kirk Cameron, as Michael Aaron “Mike” Seaver.

Bure made her debut on The Masked Singer in the same episode in which she was eliminated. She used her connection to fellow Full House cast member, the late Bob Saget, as a clue, along with the fact that Saget appeared in the fourth season of The Masked Singer. However, none of the panelists figured out her actual identity. She was eliminated after receiving the lowest number of votes among all participants.

In the same interview, Bure revealed that she had planned to use her connection to Thicke as her second clue. “So I wished I had stayed on one more week,” she explained. Both Bure and Thicke are currently 48.
