The White Lotus star, Aimee Lou Wood, recently reacted to comments about her distinct buck teeth in an interview. As a result, fans have become curious about what she said. Wood rose to fame in recent years thanks to her role in the Netflix series Sex Education. She has since appeared in other notable projects, such as The Electrical Life of Louis Wain and The White Lotus.
Aimee Lou Wood talks about her teeth
Aimee Lou Wood said that fans’ comments about her buck teeth made her feel “a bit rebellious.”
“All I ever do is take the piss out of myself,” Wood told The Hollywood Reporter. “Even the way [White Lotus fans] are talking about me and my teeth — that I don’t have veneers or Botox — it feels a bit rebellious.”
Interestingly, Wood’s teeth became a notable topic in one scene from The White Lotus Season 3. In this scene, Wood’s character, Chelsea, receives a compliment on her teeth from Charlotte Le Bon’s character, Chloe, during their conversation.
This is however not the first time Wood’s teeth have become a topic of discussion. In a previous interview with On Demand Entertainment, the Sex Education star noted how her teeth would prevent her from playing an American on-screen.
“It’s the teeth. Like, no Americans have my teeth,” The British actress said. “They just don’t. I’d have to get veneers. Because… I think that genuinely is like one of the things.”
Previously, in a 2020 Stylist interview, Lou Wood stressed that her teeth being an obstacle for her when landing roles was just a “myth” she told herself. Moreover, she added how people in her school would tell her she had teeth that resembled their own. Furthermore, she thanked Georgia May Jagger, who became the face of Rimmel London, for representing buck teeth.
She again spoke highly of Jagger in a March Instagram video, stressing how the latter’s Get the London Look campaign was a “huge moment” for her as it showed her with gap teeth. Jagger eventually responded in the comments section, calling Wood’s teeth “gorgeous.”
