âRepublic of Doyleâ star Allan Hawco recently announced that he will be heading up a new series that will be based on author Lisa Mooreâs bestselling novel âCaught.â
The Newfoundland Labrador native, who has appeared in a number of TV series and television movies like âLove & Savagery,â âClosing the Ring,â âThe Trojan Horse,â and âZOS: Zone of Separation,â Doyle graduated from the National Theatre School of Canada and continues to make major waves in the entertainment business. In addition to acting in âRepublic of Doyleâ on CBC he has also written and directed certain episodes of the series as well. In 2012, he also received The Canadian Film and Television Hall of Fameâs Outstanding Achievement Award.
ââCaughtâ presents an outstanding opportunity to continue our special relationship with CBC,â Hawco said in a statement Wednesday (as reported by CBC News). âWe have no doubt that âCaughtâ will be the first of many world class productions that we collaborate on together with eOne.â
In addition to âCaught,â Hawco is also working on âThe Book of Negroes,â which is currently in post-production, and is filming âHyena Road,â a war drama that stars Rossif Sutherland and Paul Gross.
