Week 13 Top Pickups
-
Benny Cunningham RB - St. Louis (4% owned)
Let's be honest, the Bears wouldn't be able to stop Yogi from running a lemonade stand at the fifty yard line of Solider Field. Chicago's run-defense is atrocious; anyone that would have been handed the ball against them would have had a field day Sunday. The Rams sure did.
After Zac Stacy rattled off 87 yards and a TD before exiting with a TD, Cunningham filled in nicely, reeling in 109 yards with a TD on 13 carries.
Is Cunningham going to do any serious damage going forward? Considering he was still behind Daryl Richardson on the depth chart before Sunday's Bears matchup, probably not. However, if Stacy is somehow out againt San Francisco this weekend he might make an intriguing flex play. Consider him the Stacy handcuff for now.
-
Jacob Tamme TE - Denver (2% owned)
57 yards and a TD at the TE position will get anyone's attention. However, we're talking a Peyton Manning target here. Tamme is only useful as long as Julius Thomas is sidelined; consider him the go-to handcuff for now. It's obvious Tamme can hold down the fort for the Broncos; he can do the same for your fantasy team if you're a Thomas owner.
-
Michael Crabtree WR - San Francisco (30% owned)
The deadline to remove players from the PUP list is Tuesday and Crabtree is expected to have his name called. All media reports suggest that Crabtree might make his return just in time for the fantasy playoffs in week 13. Jump on him now if he's available in your league.
-
Ryan Fitzpatrick QB - Tennessee (9% owned)
There are many quarterbacks available who might make a solid backup. Here's the main reason I like Fitzpatrick -- he's had success before...
Sure, it was only for a few games while in Buffalo, but Fitzy's been pretty hot lately for the Titans. He completed 30 of 42 passes while tossing two TDs, amounting 26 fantasy points. He's averaged 23 fantasy points his last three outings and has a fairly soft defensive schedule four of the last five weeks that includes Indy, Denver, Jacksonville and Houston. In a deep league I like Fitzpatrick as QB insurance.
-
Tiquan Underwood WR - Tampa Bay (2% owned)
No idea if he's related to Carrie or not, but Tiquan was the hotter of the two on Sunday, pulling in 108 yards and two scores Sunday against the Lions. The catch? The performance was only off of three receptions, a total that is tied for his best all season. The Bucs also face Carolina, San Fran and St. Louis in the coming weeks. I don't think Underwood will help your fantasy team much down the stretch, but that being said, he does make an intriguing lottery ticket if you really need a fill-in reciever. Crazier things have happened. Who knows, maybe rookie quarterback Mike Glennon is still finding his favorite target?
