Week 7 Top Pickups
-
Andre Ellington RB - Arizona (35% owned)
The coaching staff in Arizona have made it clear they prefer Ellington over Rashard Mendenhall and it's obvious he's the more talented back. The only thing holding him back is his size, which prevents him from carrying a heavy load every weekend. Ellington rushed for 56 yards on seven carries and a TD against a stout Niners defense. Ellington will be a solid flex play against the right teams. Sell Mendenhall for anything you can get in return.
-
Harry Douglas WR - Atlanta (36% owned)
Douglas is trying to pick up where Julio Jones (who is lost for the season) left off. Although he's not as talented, Matt Ryan has proven his trust in him, targeting him in the red zone often. The Falcons are going to throw the ball a lot and I would expect Douglas to bring in a solid 50-80 yards per game.
-
Jarrett Boykin - Green Bay (1% owned)
If you were like me, your heart stopped when Randall Cobb went down grabbing his knee against the Ravens Sunday. In fact, not only Cobb, but James Jones was carted off the field as well due to injury; stepping in was Jarrett Boykin! Who? Doesn't matter. Aaron Rodgers targeted him six times Sunday, and although Boykin dropped two of those passes, it's very likely that he'll be an integral part of the offense until the Packers get healhty at the wideout position again. Monitor Jones' and Cobb's status carefully. Boykin will be a trendy handcuff.
-
Joseph Randle RB - Dallas (3% owned)
He's the only healthy running back Dallas has! And according to reports, he ain't that bad either. Regardless of how much talent he actually has, he's expected to get a majority of the carries -- even a few passes his way -- until Demarco Murray returns, which likely won't be for a couple weeks at the very least. The Cowboys also face very favorable run-matchups in the upcoming weeks -- what else would you expect in an awful division?
-
Nick Foles QB - Philadelphia (12% owned)
I would only pickup Foles right now if you need a QB to fill a bye absence. However, keep a close eye on the situation in Philly. Rumors are already swirling that if Foles plays as well against the Cowboys this weekend as he did against the Bucs (133.3 passer rating) the Eagles will start him over Michael Vick when he is healed from his hamstring injury.
