Robert Irwin‘s journey on Dancing with the Stars has been emotional. Russell Crowe, a father figure to him, has been his constant support throughout the competition. The celebrated actor-film director recently got candid about what Steve Irwin would think of his son Robert’s moves. The Gladiator star believes that it would’ve been nothing but glowing praise!
Russell Crowe believes Steve Irwin would be impressed with Robert’s DWTS performance
Russell Crowe said the late wildlife conservationist would be “in absolute awe” of his son, Robert Irwin, for his dancing. Crowe believes that Steve would have been brimming with pride. Russell, a longtime friend of the Irwins, has been actively following Robert’s journey on Dancing with the Stars, from sharing feedback after each routine to offering detailed guidance that echoes Steve’s own voice.
“Although Steve could read the rhythms of the seasons and every living creature, he was absolutely not gifted with a sense of musical rhythm,” Crowe told The New York Times. “In his hands, a tambourine became a deadly weapon”, the 61-year-old actor jokingly added.
“I think he would watch Robert dancing and how he uses his body, the strength and poise, and he would be in awe of his son”, the Nuremberg star added.
Robert, too, is immensely thankful for Russell’s unwavering guidance and support. “He’ll really delve into the detail of, ‘Okay, these steps were great, love the lines, love the clarity in the storytelling.’ To really get that very in-depth feedback is amazing, and it means a lot”, the 21-year-old conservationist told Entertainment Weekly.
Robert Irwin is killing it on Dancing with the Stars. His top-notch dancing skills and infectious energy have made him a top contender for the Season 34 Mirrorball trophy. His sister Bindi bagged the trophy in Season 21 of the dance reality show. Hence, pressure’s definitely on for Robert to live up to the family name.
