Ryan Reynolds has ruffled feathers with the people of Minnesota over the launch of his new boxed wine brand, Ugly Estates. The boxed wine is sold exclusively in Minnesota. In an exclusive interview with local publication Minnesota’s Star Tribune, the actor called the place an “underdog state.”
He revealed, “You want to go to places that will get it. I don’t think Martha’s Vineyard is going to really embrace this the way Minnesota might.” Reynolds also believes that Minnesota residents will embrace the idea of a boxed wine rather than a bottled one because they are “funny.”
The Red Notice star dished, “Funny people come out of Minnesota. Funny people come out of eastern Canada. When you’re freezing your butt off in the winter months, you’re huddled together. And when you’re huddled together, you’re sparking ideas.”
However, Minnesota’s local residents reacted negatively to the 49-year-old actor’s choice of words. One fan commented, “Wow! What a jerky thing to say. Between the two of them, I have to assume they just share one brain cell.”

She slammed the actor, writing, “Ryan has only been to Minnesota 2 times in his life & knows nothing about us. I guess he thinks Minnesotans are cheap and lack taste.
