Crave: When did you first start to learn boxing?
(GGG) Champ: I started when I was 10yrs old I was taken to the boxing gym by my oldest brother. He introduced me to the sport.
Crave: Who was your favorite boxer while you growing up?
(GGG) Champ: I respect all the fighters who have the big names. But I can’t name just one. I watched all of them.
Crave: How many Amateur fights did you have?
(GGG) Champ: The first am fight I had I was 10yrs old. I didn’t count but as far as I remember it was approximately 350 fights. It was a lot of fights. (laughs)
Crave: On “Road to Golovkin Geal (HBO)” we saw you have a five year old son. Do you plan on teaching him boxing?
(GGG) Champ: No, I don’t think so. I’m sure he will know how to fight and learn about boxing. But I don’t think he will be a professional. Because being a professional boxer is a full lifestyle.
Crave: What has been the toughest fight so far for you in the pro’s?
(GGG) Champ: I can’t name a specific opponent. Each fight has it’s own preparations and challenges.
Crave: If you could fight any fighter in history who would it be?
(GGG) Champ: I don’t think about that.
Crave: Andre Ward claims that you (GGG) are ducking him. Would you consider fighting Ward?
(GGG) Champ: I’m so tired of this story. My advice to Andre Ward is to stop mentioning my name.
Crave: Last year footage surfaced of you sparring Shane Mosley. 1. What was that like? 2. How did you end up sparring Shane Mosley?
(GGG) Champ: That happened four or five years ago the first time I came to the gym in Big Bear. Shane was training, it wasn’t really sparring we were just warming up.
Crave: If you could have one wish granted for your boxing ability what would it be?
(GGG) Champ: I’ve never really thought about that.
Crave: What are your ultimate goals in boxing? When your career is one day over what would you have like to have achieved (be remembered by) in the sport?
(GGG) Champ: The main thing I want to have at the end of my career is to be healthy. But as for people to remember me, I want my fans to remember the type of fights I had.
