Buffalo psych-rock crew Sleepy Hahas‘ forthcoming full-length debut Dull Days (out May 13) can’t come soon enough, and we’re stoking the fires today with an exclusive premiere of their rockin’ new video “I Hate My Body (And It Hates Me Too)”.
We do a lot of music and video premieres here on Crave. This one stands out, however, for both its visual merits and the fact that the song is completely freakin’ awesome. With influences ranging from Queens of the Stone Age to The Black Keys to the White Stripes, Sleepy Hahas – drummer Steve Tripi, bassist Mo Halliday, keyboardist Phil Shore, and guitarist, vocalist and writer Pat Butler – have pulled pages from the best books in rock history and woven them into a dynamic sound that’s earned them a number of notable fans.
Today’s video premiere a blast of visual psychedelia in tandem with surging rock goodness, as body distortion and kaleidoscope effects give us a sense that there may have been a little extra something in the coffee this morning. And is that a little Clutch influence we hear? Check it out below, exclusively on CraveOnline!
Mixed and mastered by Paul Hamann of The Black Keys Attack & Release fame, Dull Days is the band’s first full-length effort. Pick up “I Hate My Body (And It Hates Me Too)” at Bandcamp, and keep up with the band on Facebook and Twitter.
