Several TV series were officially renewed in March 2026 across major networks and streaming platforms. The announcements included comedies, dramas, reality competition shows, and period series returning for additional seasons.
These renewals were confirmed by networks including ABC, NBC, Fox, Netflix, and PBS. Some series will continue for multiple seasons, while one renewal also confirmed the show’s final installment.

Miss Scarlet
PBS renewed the period crime drama Miss Scarlet for a seventh season, which will also serve as the show’s final chapter. The series debuted in 2021 on Masterpiece Mystery! and follows Victorian London investigator Eliza Scarlet.
Kate Phillips returns as Eliza Scarlet alongside Tom Durant-Pritchard, Paul Bazely, Tim Chipping, and Evan McCabe. Phillips said portraying Eliza has been “the greatest joys of my career” and added, “It’s been a privilege to work on a show crafted with so much love and dedication.”
Best Medicine
Fox renewed the freshman medical drama Best Medicine for a second season consisting of 12 episodes for the 2026–2027 television season. The series stars Josh Charles as Dr. Martin Best, a doctor who moves from Boston to practice medicine in the town of Port Wenn, Maine.
The show is based on the ITV series Doc Martin created by Dominic Minghella and developed by Liz Tuccilo. According to Deadline, the premiere drew 12.6 million total multi-platform viewers and ranked among the top two highest-rated drama debuts of the season.
Destination X
NBC renewed the reality competition series Destination X for a second season. The show is hosted by Jeffrey Dean Morgan and features contestants attempting to guess their secret locations while traveling on a blacked-out bus.
The first season premiered in May 2025. It averaged 14 million viewers across linear and streaming in its first 26 days. NBC stated it was “the top alternative series launch on Peacock.” The network also said it reached 20 million viewers across all platforms during its ten-episode run.
Little House on the Prairie
Netflix renewed Little House on the Prairie for a second season ahead of its first season premiere. The show is based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s book series and stars Alice Halsey, Skywalker Hughes, Luke Bracey, and Crosby Fitzgerald.
Showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine said, “I’m incredibly grateful to our wonderful cast and crew, who put their hearts and hard work into making our first season come alive.” Netflix executive Jinny Howe added, “We are delighted to renew this beautiful reimagining of Little House on the Prairie for a second season ahead of its Netflix debut.”
Abbott Elementary
ABC renewed the sitcom Abbott Elementary for a sixth season. Created by Quinta Brunson, the series stars Brunson as Janine Teagues alongside Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti, William Stanford Davis, and Sheryl Lee Ralph.
The show is currently the highest-rated comedy among adults aged 18–49. Abbott Elementary has won four Primetime Emmy Awards and received a total of 30 nominations.
9-1-1
ABC renewed the procedural drama 9-1-1 for a tenth season. Created by Ryan Murphy, the series follows Los Angeles first responders and the emergencies they handle.
The show stars Angela Bassett, Oliver Stark, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryan Guzman, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Corinne Massiah, Elijah M. Cooper, and Gavin McHugh. The series premiered in 2018 on Fox before moving to ABC starting with Season 7.
9-1-1: Nashville
ABC also renewed the spin-off series 9-1-1: Nashville for a second season. The show follows emergency responders in Nashville and is the second spin-off in the 9-1-1 franchise.
Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, LeAnn Rimes, Michael Provost, Juani Feliz, Hailey Kilgore, and Hunter McVey star in the series. Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani created the show.
High Potential
ABC renewed High Potential for a third season. The series stars Kaitlin Olson as Morgan, a cleaning worker at the LAPD whose high IQ leads her to become a consultant for the police department.
The cast also includes Daniel Sunjata, Javicia Leslie, Deniz Akdeniz, and Amirah J. The renewal comes as the show prepares for a change in leadership after showrunner Todd Harthan departed to work on the upcoming Eragon series.
The Night Agent
Netflix renewed The Night Agent for a fourth season in March 2026. The political thriller series stars Gabriel Basso as FBI agent Peter Sutherland, who works a night shift answering emergency calls at the White House.
Netflix previously renewed the show for a third season before the second season premiered. The decision reflected the series’ strong viewership performance on the platform. Based on Matthew Quirk’s novel, the series follows Sutherland as he becomes involved in high-level government conspiracies and national security threats.
