Paul Rudd reveals if he’s part of new Clueless TV show
During an ET red carpet interview at the world premiere of Anaconda held at The United Theater on Broadway in Los Angeles, Paul Rudd answered a question related to the Clueless sequel series, which is reportedly in the works. Rudd was asked whether he’ll have any involvement in it, to which he responded, saying, “I don’t know. I don’t think so.”
“Like you, I saw that they were making that. So I’m curious. It’s exciting,” he added. This seems to be the first time Rudd has addressed the upcoming sequel series. There were multiple reports of the show being in the works, earlier this year in April.
Later, in August, Alicia Silverstone revealed during an interview with TODAY that the show was in “baby stages.” When asked about what she can reveal of the Clueless sequel series, Silverstone said, “Not much. I’m really excited about it. I think we’re going to try really hard. The goal is to make it honor what everyone loves about Clueless and Cher.”
After the film, which is loosely based on Jane Austen’s Emma, came out in 1995, a Clueless sitcom released in the following year, based on the film. The show ran for 3 seasons with Rachel Blanchard in the lead as Cher Horowitz. The cast also included Stacey Dash, Elisa Donovan, Donald Faison, and Julie Brown, among actors. Meanwhile, this year, Clueless (1995) celebrated its 30th anniversary.
