A new rumor has emerged about the Young Avengers‘ role in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. The rumor claims that the team’s appearances in the films will set up their show, which will take place after Secret Wars.
Notably, neither the team nor any of its members have been confirmed for the films, which will include returning MCU characters like Anthony Mackie’s Captain America and Pedro Pascal’s Mister Fantastic.
Marvel’s Young Avengers rumored to be in Doomsday and Secret Wars
According to a new rumor from prominent industry scooper MyTimeToShineHello, the Young Avengers or Marvel’s Champions will reportedly show up in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars to set up their series, which will be set after the events of the latter film.
The scooper wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “The Champions/Young Avengers will be in both Doomsday and Secret Wars to tease their show that will be set post Secret Wars.”
However, Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed the appearance of the Young Avengers/Champions or any of its members in the upcoming Avengers films as of writing. It is possible that the group may or may not appear together as a team. The individual members could be part of separate teams in Doomsday and Secret Wars before the latter film unites them to set up their TV series.
Although fans have yet to see a fully-formed Young Avengers team in live-action, Marvel Studios teased its formation at the end of The Marvels. The film’s ending showed Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel meeting Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop from Hawkeye and inviting her to join a team of young superheroes she was building.
Before The Marvels, Marvel Studios introduced each member of the Young Avengers throughout Phases Four and Five. Billy and Tommy Maximoff appeared as young children in WandaVision.
The former then returned as a teenager via Joe Locke’s William Kaplan in Agatha All Along. Meanwhile, the latter is set to appear in VisionQuest as Thomas Shepherd — whose body includes Tommy’s soul — installed by Kaplan at the end of Agatha All Along.
Further, Eli Bradley, who is Patriot in the comics, appeared in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, played by Elijah Richardson. Meanwhile, Xochitl Gomez starred as America Chavez in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
