Spider-Man 4 Cast Adds Another Homecoming Trilogy Actor – Rumor

Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to expand its star-studded roster, with a familiar face from Tom Holland’s Spider-Man trilogy rumored to make a comeback. This comes as casting updates keep pouring in for Marvel and Sony’s upcoming sequel.

Tony Revolori’s Flash Thompson said to return in Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Tony Revolori’s Flash Thompson is reportedly coming back in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Revolori previously appeared as Peter Parker’s snarky rival across the first three MCU Spider-Man films, aka Homecoming (2017), Far From Home (2019), and No Way Home (2021) (via Daniel Richtman).

In the trilogy, Flash served as the comic relief and high school antagonist to Peter Parker, often mocking him while idolizing Spider-Man, unaware that they were the same person. The last time fans saw him, he had been accepted into MIT, where both Ned and MJ were also headed after No Way Home. If this rumor proves true, Brand New Day could revisit those characters in new and unexpected ways.

While Revolori’s role in the film remains under wraps, fans have long speculated about Flash Thompson’s potential evolution into Agent Venom. After all, it is a storyline lifted straight from Marvel Comics.

The actor himself previously said that he’d love to explore that transformation in the MCU, saying, “Yeah, you know, look, I’ve read the comics that everyone’s read. I would be really, really f—ing excited to do something like that. That would be really cool… The hope is to do it, the dream is to do it. And we’ll see if it ever happens.”

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be the fourth solo outing for Tom Holland’s web-slinger and a direct continuation of No Way Home. Following the multiversal chaos that erased Peter Parker’s identity from the world, the new film will reportedly return him to his street-level roots as he rebuilds his life from scratch.

Directed by Shang-Chi filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton, the movie is shaping up to be one of Phase 6’s biggest releases.
