Here’s What Americans Think About Trump’s AI Poop Video

Over 1,000 Americans were polled about Donald Trump’s controversial AI poop video. Earlier this week, the president made a post on Truth Social with a video showing him in a fighter jet dropping sewage on crowds of “No Kings” protestors. Senator Bernie Sanders showed his disgust over the post, saying that Trump was “fomenting hatred,” but over 35,000 users on the platform have like the video since it was posted on October 18. So how do regular Americans really feel about it?

Majority of Americans disapprove of Trump’s AI feces video

70% of Americans say that they either “somewhat disapprove” (9%) or “strongly disapprove” (61%) of Trump’s AI-generated poop video, according to a YouGov survey. Meanwhile, 13% of respondents “strongly approve” and 7% “somewhat approve” of the post.

The poll sampled 1091 U.S. adult citizens and was conducted between October 20 and October 22. The survey specifically asked “Do you approve or disapprove of Donald Trump’s decision to post the video you were just shown on social media?” after the respondents watched the video. 36% of those surveyed had seen the post before, while 44% had not seen or heard of it at all. The results have a margin of error of 4.1%

The respondents were then asked to describe the video by selecting various adjectives from a list. 60% found the video “unpresidential,” 52% said it was “disturbing,” 51% found it “offensive,” and 48% believed it was “tacky.” On the flipside, others said that it was “funny” (21%), “entertaining” (15%), and “clever” (9%).

Overall, those surveyed were worried about the spread of AI-generated videos in general, with 73% being “very concerned” about them causing “the spread of misleading video and audio deep fakes.” They were also “very concerned” about their contribution to “the spread of political propaganda” (64%), the “manipulation of human behavior” (61%), and the “diminishment of human creativity and drive” (53%).
