Den Of Thieves 3: Gerard Butler-Led Sequel Gets Release Date Update

Gerard Butler and O’Shea Jackson Jr.’s Den of Thieves 3 may have just had its potential release date window revealed in a recent update. It will follow the second movie, Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, which came out in January 2025. Although the third part was announced along with the second movie’s release, its plot is being kept under wraps.

Den Of Thieves 3’s release date won’t arrive before 2027

Den of Thieves 3 might have a release date window set in 2027. This comes after the recent update shared by actor O’Shea Jackson Jr.

Jackson recently posted a photo of his gym session on Instagram and wrote in the caption, “9 months down. Give me another 9 and it’s GGs. Meh. Let’s call it another 6 months. D3N of THI3V3S. Den 3 comin. (Insert evil laugh).”

This appears to suggest that the movie is yet to begin production, and filming might start only in 2026, extending the waiting period for fans who want to witness Jackson and Gerard Butler team up onscreen again.

Despite Den of Thieves 2 having moderate success at the box office, the third part was announced soon after. While speaking about the future of the franchise with Variety in January, Jackson used Ryan Reynolds’ quote from Deadpool & Wolverine and said that he wanted to work with “Gerard until he’s 90.”

He further stated, “I know how much I want to do these other films, but we cannot cheapen this beautiful thing that we made.” Jackson added that “we won’t make it if it’s not right and if it’s not the same thing that made audiences fall in love with the franchise in the first place.”

Christian Gudegast is also expected to return as the director, while Jackson and Butler will also reprise their roles as Donnie Wilson and Nick O’Brien in the third part, respectively.
