Mike Colter Reunites With Daredevil: Born Again Stars, Luke Cage’s Return Rumored

Mike Colter’s Luke Cage might return in Marvel‘s Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, based on the actor’s recent appearance. Colter has been addressing the questions of his possible comeback as Cage since the release of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1. However, the actor has not confirmed anything yet. Colter played the role of Cage in the Netflix show from 2016 to 2018.

Luke Cage’s return in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 possibly confirmed

Mike Colter’s recent appearance at an LA Comic-Con alongside Charlie Cox and Krysten Ritter has led fans to believe that Luke Cage’s return in Marvel is confirmed.

Sharing the reunion image in their post, scooper MyTimeToShineHello wrote, “And next in Daredevil Born Again season 2.” Since Daredevil returned to the MCU, fans have been wondering if other defenders like Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist will have the same fate.

While Ritter’s Jones has joined Cox’s Matt Murdock in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, the confirmation of Cage is still pending. Recently, at the Edmonton Expo, Colter addressed the rumors again and stated, “I don’t know why people keep asking me this. There are no signs. It’s not like they’ve just recently revived one of the Marvel Netflix shows.” Despite Colter’s denial on many occasions, there was a boost in fans’ suspicion after the actor posted a story of Cage on his Instagram in June.

Colter also said at the Indiana Comic Con, moderated by Collider‘s Maggie Lovitt, in March 2025 that he has “hopes” of returning as Luke Cage. The actor added, “I don’t think about it anymore. I think there’s always time. I don’t think it’s impossible. Anything can happen.”

Marvel Head of Streaming, Brad Winderbaum, had a conversation with EW in February in which he shared that they are “very much exploring” the other Defenders. However, Winderbaum stated that he “can’t say much.”
