A Thousand Tomorrows Author on if Season 2 Is in Works

Karen Kingsbury, the author of the namesake book on which the rodeo romance series A Thousand Tomorrows is based, recently took to social media to give an update on the Season 2 status. Kingsbury also created the show for Pure Flix (since renamed Great American Pure Flix), where it premiered on February 24, 2023, and aired for six episodes. It has garnered widespread popularity after becoming available on Netflix.

Karen Kingsbury clarifies if A Thousand Tomorrows Season 2 is happening

Karen Kingsbury took to Instagram earlier to share that “the chatter continues about another season of A Thousand Tomorrows.” She added that she had “nothing to announce,” but her heart was “filled at the possibility.” However, it seems that some fans and outlets mistook her post as an announcement about the sophomore season, prompting Kingsbury to issue a clarification.

“Setting the record straight: I actually never confirmed a Season 2 of A Thousand Tomorrows … but … there is another book in the series,” Kingsbury wrote. “And now you’ve made Season 1 Top 5 on @netflix!” She then asked fans, “So, would you like to see a Season 2 of A Thousand Tomorrows?”

A Thousand Tomorrows is the first entry in Kingsbury’s Cody Gunner series of books. During a 2023 interview with Movie Guide, the writer reflected on the prospects of Season 2 and reportedly stated that the sequel book, Just Beyond the Clouds, had enough material for two seasons. She added, “We’ve already outlined it. We’re kind of anticipating with the success that…we’ll get to do more with it.”

However, there has been no official word on Season 2 since then. Perhaps the renewed interest in the show following its Netflix release may change that. The cast of A Thousand Tomorrows includes Colin Ford as Cody Gunnar, Rose Reid as Ali Daniels, Kate Easton as Mary Gunnar, K.C. Clyde as Mike Gunner, and James Healy Jr. as Daryl Daniels.
