Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Was Folded 200,000 Times & It Didn’t End Well

After Samsung recently released its much-awaited Galaxy Z Fold 7 model, a Korean YouTuber took it upon himself to test its durability as well as the company’s claim regarding the number of folds that the product can withstand. With Samsung boasting that its latest Galaxy phone can sustain up to 500,000 folds, the said content creator decided to put this claim to the test by manually folding the device 200,000 times. The YouTuber has now completed his experiment and has dished out some not-so-desirable results for the new Samsung product.

Here’s what happens when you fold the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 200,000 times

A renowned technology-centric YouTube channel recently shared the outcome of its one-of-a-kind test of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, where the handle’s host folded the device a whopping 200,000 times to check Samsung’s claim in real-world conditions.

While the product mostly passed the assessment with flying colors, Korean YouTube creator Tech It did report some issues that occurred with the phone during his arduous evaluation. Having live-streamed the entire experiment, he decided upon some checkpoints after a few thousand folds to judge the product’s condition.

While the initial rounds mostly ended without any major issues popping up, the YouTuber did experience a reboot error between the 6,000 and 10,000 fold mark. After approximately 46,000 folds, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 appeared to have sustained some damage in its hinge, resulting in a persistent creaking noise at every subsequent flip.

At the 75,000-fold mark, an unidentified liquid started creeping out of the hinge, only to disappear after a short period. After the 100,000 mark, a slight crackling sound occurred, with the crease on the screen becoming somewhat visible after 105,000 folds. However, the OLED panel and the hinge continued to perform seamlessly throughout the trial.

Finally, a major problem occurred around the 175,000 mark, following which the phone’s main speaker stopped working. Despite the listed issues that came to light during the test, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 ended up surviving the 200,000-fold experiment in a relatively unscathed state.
