A new rumor surrounding Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s plot suggests that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man might be after the Punisher in the movie. Scooper My Time To Shine Hello made a posted on X (formerly Twitter) and suggested that one of the plot points of Spider-Man: Brand New Day will include the web slinger trying to save the Scorpion from Jon Bernthal’s Punisher.
The scooper wrote, “The Punisher was chasing Scorpion, and Spider-Man was trying to stop him from killing his target.”
However, all the details regarding the story of Spider-Man: Brand New Day are under wraps; thus, these are just rumors. It was recently announced that the popular Spider-Man villain who last appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Scorpion, will return for Brand New Day. Scorpion, also known as Mac Gargan, is played by Michael Mando in the movie. Additionally, Mark Ruffalo is also returning as Hulk, aka Bruce Banner, in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
As covered by SuperHeroHype earlier, a clip of a tank being chased by several cops on the set of Spider-Man 4 went viral on the internet. In the clip posted by Cosmic Media on X, fans speculate that the Punisher is driving the tank as cops try to catch up to him.
Although many details about the plot of Spider-Man: Brand New Day have not been revealed, Feige previously confirmed that Holland’s Spider-Man will fight street-level crime in this movie. According to Variety, during a virtual address at the March 2025 CinemaCon, Holland conveyed, “I know we left you with a massive cliff hanger at the end of ‘No Way Home,’ so Brand New Day is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say.”
