Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, and several others have joined the cast of Chris Rock‘s next directorial venture. Rock has penned the original script and will also star in the movie. He will develop the film, reportedly a drama, for A24, making it his first collaboration with the studio.

Written and directed by Chris Rock, the cast of the reportedly untitled feature includes Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Rosalind Eleazar, and Anna Kendrick. It is currently in production in Los Angeles, California (via Deadline).
It stars Eleazar, best known for playing Louisa Guy in the Apple TV+ series Slow Horses and Agnes in the 2019 movie The Personal History of David Copperfield, as Misty Green, an actress whose career got derailed despite her talent. Things start to change when a person from her past comes calling, offering her an opportunity for a comeback.
The project sounds very similar to Misty Green, a movie announced in November 2024. At the time, outlets such as Deadline reported that Rock will portray Jordan, a filmmaker who returns to Misty’s life “with the perfect role for her – were it not for their contentious past.”
It’s unclear which characters Driver, Kaluuya, and Kendrick will play in the movie. The project will be Rock’s fourth feature film as a director after the political satire Head of State (2003), romantic comedy I Think I Love My Wife (2007), and romantic comedy-drama Top Five (2014). He will produce the movie alongside Peter Rice and David Worthen Brooks. Additionally, Nelson George, Shaum Sengupta, and Miles Alva will serve as executive producers.
Most recently, Driver played Cesar Catilina in 2024’s Megalopolis. Kaluuya voiced Hobie Brown in 2023’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. As for Kendrick, her last big-screen outing was in 2025’s Another Simple Favor, in which she reprised the role of Stephanie Smothers.
