E! News will be going off air as it has been canceled, and the airing date for its last episode has also been unveiled. This is the second time E! News is facing cancelation after it was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Before it was axed in 2020, E! News used to air in daytime. However, it was turned into a late-night show after it returned.
E! News to end in September 2025
E! News has been canceled after airing for over 3 decades. The show will air its last episode on September 25. E! News, which has been successfully airing for over 32 years, is a part of the E! network owned by NBCUniversal (via Variety).
While NBCUniversal has not provided a concrete statement regarding the cancelation of the program, some sources have reportedly confirmed that the network is looking to grow its digital brand.
As per Variety, another source stated that the decision was also taken as the 11 p.m. slot, which was allotted to E! News since its return in 2022, was no longer beneficial to the network. This is reportedly due to the change in the way the audience consumes news. Currently, E! News boasts a total of 87 million followers combined across all social media.
Additionally, E! News, along with MSNBC, USA Network, Oxygen, Golf Channel, CNBC, and more, will move to the new company Versant, which is a spinoff of Comcast. The news of E1 News’ cancellation was shared with the employees on Thursday, July 24, and some of them will be expected to move to Versant. CEO Mark Lazarus is leading the charge at Versant.
Hosted by Keltie Knight and Justin Sylvester, E! News first started airing in September 1991 and has been one of the most-watched programs on television.
