The Hunting Wives Season 2 Actor Gives Hopeful Return Update Before Renewal

Jackie Dallas recently discussed the possibility of The Hunting Wives returning for Season 2. In new interviews, the actress revealed how her character Jia-Yi expands the story beyond the original novel and why she believes the door is open for more episodes.

Jackie Dallas thinks Jia-Yi’s return is possible in The Hunting Wives Season 2

Speaking to TVMEG, Jackie Dallas responded to a question about her character’s return. “Oh, I hope so. I certainly hope so.”

In the show, Jia-Yi is a resourceful Maple Brook resident not part of the elite socialite circle but with ambitions to join it. She holds connections in law enforcement and business, making her a potential key figure in future storylines.

Dallas emphasized Jia-Yi’s importance despite the character not being in May Cobb’s original novel, stating to LRM Online, “[Jia-Yi]’s one of the new expanded characters in the world of The Hunting Wives, because the show is based off of a book by May Cobbs. And yeah, she kind of expanded the universe a little bit so that it leaves it open for hopefully a Season 2.”

Dallas also encouraged viewer support, adding, “So, I hope everyone tunes in and watches it and loves it. And, uh, we’ll rally for Season 2 and see what happens from there.”

Season 1 concluded with major unresolved plot threads. The finale revealed that Margo killed Abby after an abortion tied to Abby’s boyfriend Brad. Margo confessed to Sophie and her brother Kyle but avoided legal consequences. Her husband Jed later kicked her out after she violated their agreement, leaving her future uncertain.

Meanwhile, Sophie ran over and killed Kyle after he threatened her, creating a new legal complication. Although cleared of Abby’s murder, Sophie now faces guilt over a real crime, shifting her arc if Season 2 proceeds.

The Hunting Wives, starring Brittany Snow, Malin Akerman, Katie Lowes, Jaime Ray Newman, and others, premiered on Netflix on July 21, 2025.
