The recent release of The Bear Season 4 already has fans talking about the possibilities of Season 5, and Liza Colón-Zayas, who portrays Tina Marrero in the acclaimed series, has now come out to address what the installment could cover, if it ultimately receives confirmation from FX. In a recent discussion, the 52-year-old actress talked about the future of The Bear and shared her opinions regarding the eventual conclusion of the franchise.
The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas says she doesn’t ‘want it to end’ before Season 5
The Collateral Beauty star touched upon the direction that The Bear could explore with a potential Season 5. While she shied away from giving any specifics regarding the show’s renewal, she did say that she doesn’t “want it to end.”
“I don’t know. I really don’t. We don’t know. We don’t know the change in strategy — with Carmy leaving behind the need to pull off chaos, and sticking with consistency — how that may have affected word of mouth, whoever’s coming in,” Liza Colón-Zayas stated to Variety. She added, “Maybe that’s the Hail Mary. I honestly don’t know. Is there any Hail Mary that can come through now that that clock has reached zero? I don’t know. I don’t want it to end.”
According to previous reports, The Bear creator Christopher Storer has noted that he has already thought of ideas he would want to explore in Season 5. However, he has also said that potential scheduling conflicts involving the cast might act as a roadblock for production to commence on the installment.
Moreover, The Bear Season 4 currently has a critic score of 83% on Rotten Tomatoes. While impressive on its own, this is the lowest-rated edition in the franchise and could hinder progress on a potential fifth season.
At the time of writing, FX has yet to officially commission Season 5 for The Bear.
