Spider-Man 4 Could Cast Steven Yeun as Mister Negative

A new rumor suggests that Steven Yeun is being considered for the role of Mister Negative in Spider-Man 4. Officially titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the film will be released across theaters at the end of July 2026. The upcoming Marvel Studios production is currently in the early stages of development, and no details about the plot have been made public yet.

Steven Yeun rumored for Spider-Man 4, could play Mister Negative

According to a new scoop, the Invincible actor is the top candidate to play the role of Mister Negative in Spider-Man 4.

The rumor was shared by internet scooper @MyTimeToShineHello. They wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Steven Yeun is being eyed for a role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” This follows after they previously claimed that Yeun was interested in being a part of the film.

Steven Yeun was previously cast in another Marvel project, Thunderbolts*, as Sentry. However, he later stepped down due to scheduling conflicts. Thus, there is a chance that Yeun and Marvel would try to collaborate on another film. Nevertheless, these are just rumors, and no concrete evidence supports these claims.

After dropping out of Thunderbolts*, Yeun expressed that he was up for doing a Marvel movie. According to Variety, he said at a pop-up event in January 2024, “I think for me, time passing and things shifting kind of pulled me out of it. But Jake (Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier), I know, is going to do an incredible job. I wanna do a Marvel movie.”

Moreover, the scoop of Mister Negative being the villain in Spider-Man 4 was shared by scooper Jeff Sneider during The Hot Mic Podcast with John Rocha recently. He said, “The word on the street is that Mister Negative is the villain.” However, this is also not confirmed.
