Spider-Man 4 Rumor Teases Succession Star for Female Villain

According to recent Marvel rumors, a Succession star may make their debut in the franchise as a villain in Spider-Man 4. Sarah Snook portrayed Shiv Roy in the HBO series Succession (2018–2023), which became her breakthrough performance and garnered her an Emmy. Now, if these speculations are to be believed, she will make her MCU debut next year.

Spider-Man 4 could add Sarah Snook as Brand New Day’s second villain

Scooper Jeff Sneider cited a source to claim that Sarah Snook might play the secondary villain in Spider-Man 4. Sneider told his Hot Mic podcast co-host John Rocha that while this source has a mixed record with their reliability, the information about Snook apparently “passed the smell test.” Sneider seemed to corroborate earlier rumors that Martin Li / Mister Negative will be the primary antagonist in the movie.

“You know, a source reached out,” Sneider said. “This is the person I’ve gotten some X-Men stuff from. Some of it has been decent, some not. They gave me something that passed the smell test.”

Sneider mentioned that they had heard that Sadie Sink was not playing Jean Grey and that he didn’t know whether she would play an alternate version of MJ. He then stated that “the word on the street” was that Mister Negative was the villain in the movie.

Sneider continued, “And then, there’s a secondary female villain, because, you know, there has to be more than one villain in a Spider-Man movie. And the guy [Sneider’s source] continues to hear Sarah Snook rumored for that.”

Notably, in March 2025, it was officially confirmed that Spider-Man 4’s title would be Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker / Spider-Man. Other cast members who have been reportedly confirmed are Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas, though Marvel is yet to disclose which characters these two actors will play.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day premieres in US theaters on July 31, 2026.
