Daisy Edgar-Jones eyed for Jean Grey in Marvel’s X-Men reboot
In a recent discussion, insider Jeff Sneider noted that a source has told him that Marvel is considering casting Daisy Edgar-Jones as Jean Grey in the still-unconfirmed X-Men reboot.
During his recent appearance on The Hot Mic podcast, Sneider noted that the Kevin Feige-headed Marvel Studios is planning to structure its X-Men cast around Professor X, Cyclops, and the Phoenix.
Talking about the rumored actor names that stood out to him for X-Men’s cast, Sneider said, “This was the latest name for Jean Grey – Daisy Edgar-Jones, who just signed the Denzel [Washington] movie with Robert Pattinson.”
The scooper then reiterated that fans should take this rumor “with a grain of salt,” before shedding light on Disney’s liking of the Normal People actress. “Disney is really high on her,” Sneider said.
He further shared, “She is well-liked in the Mouse House and that they see her as a future movie star.” He then gave Edgar-Jones his stamp of approval for playing Jean Grey, stating, “I think she kind of looks the part as well. So yeah, I think she’s on the right level for Jean.”
Sneider also claimed that Marvel is contemplating recruiting Sing Sing star Colman Domingo in the role of Professor X, to go along with the rumored casting of Denzel Washington as Magneto. Despite such updates, Kevin Feige or his associates have not issued any official confirmation regarding the X-Men reboot to date.
