‘Prince Andrew Island’ in Ontario To Be Renamed Amid Controversy — Report

Ex-Prince Andrew’s connection with Jeffrey Epstein also entailed an island named after the former in Selwyn Township in Ontario. Sherry Senis, the mayor of the township, recently sat for an online interview on the Village Media podcast “Closer Look.”

During the mayor’s conversation with the podcast’s host, she went on to open up about how she has been pushing to drop the former Duke of York’s name from a local island.

The podcast video aired on March 18. The news came after the former Prince’s arrest on his 66th birthday, on February 19, at his current temporary residence, the Wood Farm cottage on the Sandringham Estate.

The mayor of Selwyn Township in Ontario, Sherry Senis, has been pushing to erase the name of ex-Prince Andrew from local islands after his links with Jeffrey Epstein. Previously, the former Duke of York lost all his royal titles after the news of his scandalous past came to the surface.

With this, he had also lost his longtime residence, the Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park in Berkshire. The brother of King Charles has now been residing at the Wood Farm cottage in Sandringham. From there, he will reportedly move to the Marsh Farm.

In the meantime, while on the Village Media podcast “Closer Look,” Selwyn Township mayor Sherry Senis addressed her push to rename a local island called “Prince Andrew Island,” named after the former Prince. Meanwhile, another island, the “Gordonstoun Island” in Selwyn Township, was named after the Scottish boarding school, Gordonstoun School, attended by now ex-Prince Andrew. There is also a push to rename this local island as well.

During the podcast, Mayor Sherry Senis revealed that after ex-Prince Andrew’s link with Jeffrey Epstein came to light, she brought a motion to the Selwyn Township Council to ask the staff to return with reports about how they could change the names of “Prince Andrew Island” and “Gordonstoun Island,” the two local islands in the Township.
