Prince Harry is reportedly visiting his United Kingdom-based charities this week. The visit coincides with the third death anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II. With his short visit, all are wondering whether the Duke of Sussex will reunite with his father, King Charles III, for the first time in over a year. However, many insiders have claimed that his packed schedule is a way of stirring pots with his elder brother, Prince William.
Per an insider, Prince William believes ‘Harry thrives on drama,’ amid UK engagements
Prince Harry is reportedly making a flying visit to the charities he still supports in the United Kingdom. As a result, he has stretched the short trip into a four-day tour. However, insiders have told Rob Shutter’s #ShuterScoop that his jam-packed schedule is a way to provoke his elder brother, Prince William, who “believes Harry thrives on drama.”
One of the stops in the Duke of Sussex’s itinerary is the WellChild Awards, a cause he has been supporting for nearly two decades. The event will be held at the Community Recording Studio (CRS) in Nottingham. There, Harry will reportedly announce a significant donation to Children in Need. As per the BBC, the Duke will also hold a private meeting with the Police and Crime Commission, CRS, and Epic Partners. Additionally, he will have informal discussions with some young people.
However, one royal aide told #ShuterScoop that “This isn’t a quick stop, it’s a statement.” As per the insider, this is Harry’s way of “showing Britain he can still do the work without needing palace approval.”
But it’s the timing that is making Harry’s UK engagements talk of the town. Since William has a busy schedule, the source believes, the younger brother will be grabbing all the limelight. This move by Harry “feels like provocation,” claims a longtime courtier.
But Prince Harry’s friends have come to his defence, saying that the 40-year-old has “never been about protocol.” For him, “people, service, connection,” come above all. The pals further added that “Whether or not William likes it, Harry isn’t going to stop.”
Despite the clarification, a few other insiders are still convinced that “This isn’t just a visit.” They claim, for Harry, it’s a way of conveying a “message” that he “still sees himself as a prince of the people.”
