Taylor Swift ended up skipping Travis Kelce‘s first NFL game with the Kansas City Chiefs. It was the football tight end’s first game following his engagement announcement with the pop icon. While fans expected Swift to show up in the stands, she wasn’t present. As per a source, the singer has a justified reason to skip her fiancé’s important day.
Taylor Swift didn’t attend Travis Kelce’s Chiefs game due to security concerns and travel costs, source claims
As per the Daily Mail, Taylor Swift skipped Travis Kelce’s Chiefs’ game in Brazil due to security reasons. Brazil’s local reports falsely claimed Swift had landed in São Paulo about three hours before the beginning of the game. As such, numerous fans were left upset who had hoped the Grammy Award-winning singer would attend the game. However, according to the outlet’s source, she was unable to travel due to security concerns and the high costs associated with travel.
The source explained, “The travel and the cost and most importantly the security, which goes along with the aforementioned travel and cost, are all the reasons Taylor didn’t go to the game to see Travis play.” Swift “would have wanted her security team there a few days ahead to make sure everything was OK.” Further, “With all of that combined, it would have been a tremendous cost for only a few hours to be in the city.” However, Swift “is enjoying watching the game on her own time.”
“This isn’t a tour stop or anything, or the Super Bowl,” the source continued. The source also mentioned it’s just the first week and “she will be at enough games this season.” This especially goes on “Kansas City, where her security team is familiar with the stadium, she can be with her crew and then stay at Travis’s house before and afterward.” The source concluded, “It ended up being the smart thing to do; it was easier not to move mountains to watch one game.”
On August 28, Swift and Kelce made their first public appearance after getting engaged. The power couple showed up for the Cincinnati Bearcats vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers match at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. The outing came two days after their engagement announcement. While their wedding’s rumored details are all over the internet, the couple has yet to confirm anything.
