Lady Gaga postpones Miami concert over ‘extremely strained’ voice

Lady Gaga announced that she postponed her Miami concert only hours before taking the stage on September 3. She posted on her Instagram Stories about having to make the “agonizing decision” following the advice of her vocal coach and doctor. Gala first apologized for the last-minute decision, expressing how “sorry” she was for cancelling what would have been the final show of her Mayhem Ball Tour.
The Grammy winner further explained that her voice had been “extremely strained” during rehearsal the night before and vocal warmup ahead of the show. She revealed that her doctor and vocal coach urged her not to go on stage because of the risk it posed. Gala claimed that despite wanting to be “hardcore” and “just push through” it, she didn’t want to risk “long-term” or “permanent” damage to her vocal chords.
Moreover, Gaga pointed out that a lot was at stake if she went against the advice and pushed through with the concert in Miami. She maintained that there was “significant risk” due to her live performances every night. The “House of Gucci” actor then called her decision to cancel the show a “hard” and “agonizing” one, but admitted that she feared the “long-term implications” on her voice more.
Gaga asked fans for forgiveness, requesting them to accept her “sincerest apologies for any disappointment, let down, [and] inconvenience.” She extended her appreciation to admirers and well-wishers and hoped they would accept her “sincere regretful apology.” Lastly, the pop icon assured that they were trying their best to “reschedule” the show.
