Kim Kardashian’s Fully Sheer Dress in Venice Is a Complete Crowd-Puller

One thing that Kim Kardashian excels at is turning heads with her fashion sense. For her appearance at the DVF Awards in Venice last week, the reality mogul’s fully sheer grey dress stole the spotlight in a classic crowd-puller moment. She was one of the five honorees awarded for their advocacy and commitment to civil causes, human rights, and speaking on important issues that are often sidelined. The SKIMS co-founder’s choice to wear a transparent goth bride dress took the internet by storm, as always.

Kim Kardashian’s appearance at the DVF Awards in Venice on August 28 may have been to honor her for her role in criminal justice reform, but it was her fashion that truly took center stage. According to Vogue, the reality star wore Glenn Martens’ sheer gray dress from Maison Margiela 2025 couture, with its draping details making it seem like her outfit was both with and without a bra.

Kardashian’s goth-like all-grey ensemble featured delicate draping and a high-neckline that was as clinched as it could be. If that wasn’t enough to attract attention, an attached cape trailed behind her, adding to the ensemble’s magnificence. The nipple-baring dress further included a jumpsuit-inspired fit, which comprised of wide-legged trousers and billowing sleeves. An unusual draping covered her torso in a reverse-bodysuit style.

Originally, the Maison Margiela couture outfit came with a face-covering hood that designer Martens presented on the runway, but Kardashian opted out of it. The SKIMS co-founder’s longtime stylist, Danielle Levi, assembled the outfit.

“The Kardashians” star let the stunning ensemble speak for itself, pairing it with minimal accessories. For glam, the actor kept her long black tresses open with a sleek middle part, pairing it with bold makeup that featured defined brows, eyeliner, and a statement lip.

Kardashian was reportedly honored at the DVF Awards in Venice for her philanthropic work and advocacy for policy changes within the legal system. In a true full-circle moment, the award was presented to her by Chris Young, the man she helped free from prison after he served 11 years for a low-level drug offense.
