Taylor Swift Took Quiet Revenge on Kanye West With Album Name, Says Source

Taylor Swift and Kanye West’s infamous 2009 VMAs incident has made headlines once again, with sources claiming that her upcoming album’s name, “The Life of a Showgirl,” appeared to be a dig at the rapper. Reportedly, fans linked it to his seventh studio album’s title, “The Life of Pablo.”

Taylor Swift has reportedly taken a subtle dig at Kanye West through the name of her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” A source told RadarOnline that the pop star “doesn’t waste moves.” Allegedly, she took this opportunity to set things straight with the 48-year-old. “If there’s an opportunity to reclaim a narrative, she’ll take it,” the insider claimed.

Netizens have apparently linked the name of TS12 to West’s 2016 album, “The Life of Pablo.” Aside from the same first three words, fans noticed that the artwork with bold orange colors was also similar. According to the outlet, they assumed that the “Lover” hitmaker has seemingly taken quiet revenge.

For those unversed, their feud goes back to the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). During Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video, West suddenly appeared on the stage and snatched the mic from her.

While the then-young soloist felt “excited” seeing a senior artist, her excitement was soon crushed. He hijacked her speech to state that Beyoncé deserved the title. He said that the “Single Ladies” singer had “one of the best videos of all time.”

The infamous incident went down in the history of award ceremonies. However, it recently gained attention again due to Swift’s upcoming album, which will be released on October 3. One of her long-time friends told the outlet that the VMA moment had “humiliated” the songwriter.

“She’s not sitting around plotting revenge every day, but if she can subtly flip the script, she will,” her friend added. They further stated that it would be “poetic justice” if Swift’s album name appeared before West’s when people search “The Life of” on the internet.
