Now, seven months later, a source told Star Magazine that the “Younger” actor has apologized to Deborra-Lee Furness. As they were quite close, she allegedly felt a “sense of guilt” for dating her friend’s ex-husband.
Foster and Furness were apparently tight and used to hang out a lot. They went on double dates when married to their respective husbands. “As [Foster] tells it, she didn’t intend to fall in love with Hugh. It just happened,” the insider clarified. Despite her apology, the “Shame” actor seems to be giving her former friend a cold shoulder and is not ready to forgive her.
Reportedly, the 69-year-old claims to be “not interested” in mending their broken friendship. She “is disgusted by” Jackman and Foster’s relationship. Meanwhile, the latter has no intention to give up on her apology as she believes that they need “closure.”
For the unversed, Furness and the “X-Men” alum were married for 27 years before they called it quits in September 2023. They share two kids — Oscar and Ava. On the other hand, Foster and Ted Griffin filed for divorce in 2024 after 10 years of marriage. The four of them were reportedly a tight-knit group.
Jackman and Foster announced their relationship to the world earlier this year, in January. Since then, they have been “going strong.” An insider told PEOPLE that the two have built a “good foundation.” Both are Broadway musical artists who have known each other since 2000.
