King Charles’ Butler Not Ready to Believe Prince Harry’s Claims About Royal Family

Prince Harry’s claims about the royal family’s “animosity” towards him have left King Charles former butler confused. The latter couldn’t believe the Duke of Sussex’s thoughts that were included in the memoir, “Spare.” Grant Harrold, 47, told The Telegraph that he has shared an extremely different perception about the royal family in his upcoming book, “The Royal Butler: My remarkable life of royal service.”

Prince Harry’s claims about his family baffles the royal butler

The Duke of Sussex insisted in his memoir, “Spare,” that his relationship with King Charles was not good. He also had similar insight into his bond with Prince William and Kate Middleton. However, the monarch’s former butler, Grant Harrold, recently told The Telegraph that he does not believe in Prince Harry’s claims about the royal family. He questioned the 40-year-old’s understanding of his relationship with his father and brother.

“The King used to do things to make them [Harry and William] laugh and giggle,” Harrold recalled. In “Spare,” the duke mentioned that he and his elder brother “begged” their father not to marry Queen Camilla. Harry hinted that the latter “aimed at marriage and eventually the Crown,” implying that his relationship with the king and queen was not great.

Contrary to the Duke of Sussex’s claims, the former butler noted that the two kids and King Charles and Queen Camilla “got on so well.” “And that’s why I don’t understand what Harry’s said,” Harrold added. He stated that he had witnessed the four dining and drinking together, and also attending parties as a family. Harrold recalled there was “no animosity” towards Harry.

He also shared the heartbreaking period in the royal family when the former butler witnessed the bond between the two princes breaking. According to the ex-employee, Harry always shared a close relationship with William, even after the latter married Kate Middleton.

Reportedly, the then-newlyweds used to include the Duke of Sussex in outings so that he wouldn’t feel left out. Therefore, Harrold questioned Harry’s perception that he mentioned in his memoir about his estranged relationship with the Prince and Princess of Wales.
