Angelina Jolie Selling LA Home & Leaving the Country, Says Source

Angelina Jolie is reportedly leaving the country after she sells her Los Angeles home. According to a source, she has been planning to move abroad after her twins turn 18. Due to shared custody with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, the 50-year-old didn’t shift elsewhere before this.

For those unversed, the former married couple’s divorce was finalized in December 2024 after an eight-year-long legal battle. They share six children — Maddox (24), Pax (21), Zahara (20), Shiloh (19), and twins Vivienne and Knox (17).

Angelina Jolie’s Los Angeles home will soon be on the market as she plans on leaving the country for good. A source told PEOPLE that the Academy Award winner “never wanted to live in L.A. full time.” She simply had to because of the joint custody with Brad Pitt. However, things are different now as the kids have finally grown up.

She is set to officially “put the house up for sale” and move abroad “as soon as Knox and Viv turn 18 next year.” The insider added, “She’ll be very happy when she’s able to leave Los Angeles.”

This is not the first time that her desire to leave L.A. has made headlines. In a 2024 interview, the Oscar-winner told The Hollywood Reporter that she was staying because of “a divorce.” Jolie also revealed that she was in search of “that humanity that I found across the world,” which she couldn’t find in L.A.

She has always prioritized her kids, so much so that one of the reasons for her divorce was Pitt allegedly physically abusing them. It happened when he reportedly got drunk and attacked Jolie and their children. The private jet incident in 2016 finally led to their separation.

Although he worked on his sobriety, the 61-year-old’s relationship with his ex-wife and children hit a rough patch. Several reports have claimed that none of the older kids wanted to use their father’s surname and thus took their mother’s last name soon after the former couple’s separation.
