Sydney Sweeney’s Jeans Controversy Causes 2022 Song To Go Viral

A song by former American Idol contestant Ash Ruder has gone viral after Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle advertisement’s wide-ranging controversy. The primary reason for this is the song’s name, “Blue Genes.” Ruder has since confirmed that her 2022 song has nothing to do with the ongoing controversy.

Since the time American Eagle’s ad, featuring the Euphoria actress, has gone viral, the unrelated song, “Blue Genes,” by Ash Ruder, has been going viral.

Ruder spoke about this to KREX News 5, where she emphasized that she did not expect her song to go viral amidst the chaos surrounding the controversial advertisement. Her emotional ballad is about generational trauma and family hardship.

This has nothing to do with the ad that has become a subject of immense controversy. Yet, the song has hit the audience well, and Ruder is now achieving fame that she did not expect.

“Well, it was really just a little idea that turned into something that I never would have expected to happen and blow up as it did,” Ruder stated, before adding, “But I think, so far, we are nearing almost 5 million views, maybe more at this point.”

Ash Ruder continued, “I wrote this song, ‘Blue Genes,’ on December 8, in 2022,…It really started out as just a song about my family… and the hardships my family has gone through and about breaking generational curses, and that’s been a really cool thing in my life that I am really proud of.” She continued, “It has been really cool to see, and it really has nothing to do with the Sydney Sweeney ad, other than it’s the same play on words.”

Meanwhile, Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle ad continues to have the world divided due to its allegedly racist undertone.
