Fox News host comments on Sydney Sweeney and Donald Trump’s son
Fox News personality Jesse Watters recently stirred controversy with a provocative suggestion involving actress Sydney Sweeney and President Donald Trump’s youngest son.
While discussing the actress’ recent rise in popularity among conservatives, Watters speculated about a future where Sweeney and Barron Trump become a couple. Watters said during a segment of The Five, “You know how this ends.” He added, “She’s gonna marry Barron. And it’s gonna create the greatest political dynasty in American history.”
Watters comment came as Fox News aired a banner under the title, “LIBERALS ARE LOSING IT OVER SYDNEY SWEENEY.” It references the backlash the Euphoria star has faced following her role in American Eagle’s latest campaign.
Previously, Trump expressed his support for Sweeney and her AE ad. When asked about Sweeney, the President said, “Oh, now I love her ad…I think her ad is fantastic.”
The President expanded on his support for the actress on Truth Social. He wrote, “Sydney Sweeney…has the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are ‘flying off the shelves.’ Go get ‘em Sydney!.. Being WOKE is for losers. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
The campaign, which started the controversy, features the tagline “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans.” It quickly sparked criticism online. Many users claimed the slogan was an intentional play on the word “genes,” accusing the campaign of promoting white supremacy and racial undertones. One video shows Sweeney approaching a billboard that reads, “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Genes,” then crossing out “Genes” and replacing it with “Jeans” before confidently walking away.
