According to Rob Shuter’s exclusive #ShuterScoop report, a source shared that despite the actors’ frequent reunions, Garner is officially done with potentially pursuing a romantic relationship with her ex-husband.
Affleck and Garner bonded after filming “Daredevil” in 2003 and got together the following year. The former couple tied the knot in 2005 and welcomed three children together: daughters Violet Anne and Fin (Seraphina) and son Samuel. They ultimately ended their relationship in 2015, finalizing their divorce three years later. However, they have been committed to their co-parenting duties.
The source told Shuter that Garner isn’t looking forward to “cleaning up” Affleck’s mess as she “barely survived the first time.” Friends close to the star said that she has been living a contented and drama-free life after her divorce. According to the outlet, her close pals would go to the extent of staging an intervention for the actor if she even considered getting back together with her ex-husband.
The insider also shared that Affleck would be interested in rekindling their romance. They said, “She’s moved on emotionally. Ben hasn’t. He’d take her back in a heartbeat. But she knows better.” Meanwhile, the source added that the former couple’s kids are cheering for their parents to get back together. The trio reportedly wants them to be happy and “light up” seeing the exes together, even as friends.
Last month, Affleck and Garner reunited to take their kids to a baseball game at Fenway Park. “The Accountant” star previously gushed about his co-parenting relationship with Garner, telling GQ that they work well together.
