King Charles faced a setback while trying to evict Prince Andrew from Royal Lodge, says source
King Charles couldn’t see past the legal setback and ultimately failed to drive his brother, Prince Andrew, out of the Royal Lodge in Windsor. According to Rob Shuter’s exclusive report, the monarch has officially lost the battle, which means that the Duke of York will continue staying in the mansion with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.
The source indicated that it was Charles who “caved.” They continued, “Andrew refused to leave — and the King blinked first.” For the past few years, the duke had reportedly been living off of his brother’s personal wealth until the monarch decided to cut off his funding. However, Shuter reports that Andrew managed to secure both a long-term lease as well as a mysterious financial support.
The insider told the outlet that Charles hoped that cutting his brother off financially would eventually make him leave the Royal Lodge. However, Andrew managed to find new money and maintain his residence in the mansion. Stakes allegedly bent further in his favor after Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, gave up on living in the estate.
A former aide said, “[Prince Andrew] outmaneuvered the King. And Charles let it happen.” Meanwhile, the Express previously reported the Duke of York’s victory over the Royal Lodge. Citing the Daily Mail, the outlet revealed that the alleged non-working royal presented the king with a lease document that proved he is legally entitled to reside in the lodge.
