On Tuesday, sales for the rosé went live on the brand’s official website, and it didn’t sit well with many, including an expert, Kinsey Schofield. She told the publication that Markle’s announcement was “inappropriate.”
In Schofield’s opinion, her “launching an alcoholic product” on Prince Harry’s late mother’s birthday was “not just tone-deaf,” but also “insensitive.” She then explained the strategy behind the late royal’s death, who “died in a car crash caused by a drunk driver.” The expert believed that “fact alone” should have dismissed any “association between her memory and the marketing of alcohol.”
Despite calling Meghan Markle’s wine launch a “careless” move, Schofield highlighted the Duchess of Sussex’s tributes to Princess Diana over the years.
