Arnold Schwarzenegger recently reflected on the time when Miley Cyrus was dating his son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and he had nothing but good things to say about the pop star. Schwarzenegger appeared on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” and offered warm words for Cyrus. Responding to a fan’s question, the former California Governor was effusive in his praise for the “Flowers” singer.

Nearly a decade after Miley Cyrus’s dating and then ending things with Patrick Schwarzenegger, Arnold Schwarzenegger got to reflect on their relationship. A fan asked, “What was the worst and the best part about Miley Cyrus dating your son Patrick?” To this, the ex-governor responded with his characteristic candor and a smile on his face.
Schwarzenegger said, “The best was that she’s a wonderful, wonderful girl and human being.” He added that Cyrus was “very, very talented” and a “wonderful houseguest.” What was more impressive was that Schwarzenegger had nothing bad to say about her. When asked what the “worst part” about his son dating Cyrus was, the former governor replied that there was “no worst part.”
Schwarzenegger continued, “She was just a really good, good person and fun to hang out with.” He also added that he was “sorry it didn’t work out.” However, he revealed, “Patrick, in the meantime, found another girl that he got engaged with, and is getting married to in September.” While being respectful of Cyrus, Schwarzenegger showed joy for his son’s engagement to model Abby Champion.
Schwarzenegger’s kind comments came years after Cyrus and Patrick ended things. Their romance began in late 2014, but after five months of dating, PEOPLE reported the couple had amicably parted ways. As per PEOPLE’s insider at that time, Cyrus and Patrick broke up because they were in “two different places in their lives.”
Though Patrick Schwarzenegger’s dating Miley Cyrus is old news, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s answer says that he remembers the pop sensation in good spirits.
