Prince Harry Wanted Meghan Markle to Respect His Mom & Not Launch Her Wine on Her Birthday, Says ‘Source’

Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, is all set to launch the new rosé wine from her brand, As Ever, on July 1. The date also happens to be the birthday of Princess Diana, the late mother of Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. The Princess of Wales would have turned 64 on the day. As reported by ShuterScoop, a “source” told them that the Duke of Sussex did not allegedly wish for his wife to launch the new wine on the same day as his mother’s birthday.

Prince Harry urged Meghan Markle to choose a different date for the wine launch, says ‘source’

Prince Harry reportedly requested that Meghan Markle change the launch date of her As Ever rosé wine, as the release date, which is July 1, coincides with the birthday of the Duke of Sussex’s late mother, Princess Diana. Per ShuterScoop, a “source” claimed, “He told her, ‘Please, not on Mummy’s birthday.'” The person continued, “It wasn’t about business — it was about respect.”

The “insider” then went on to say to the news outlet that Meghan Markle allegedly didn’t budge from her decision and reportedly refused to move the launch date for the rosé wine from As Ever. According to the “source,” Markle reportedly claimed that the release date was an absolute “coincidence” and it was “too late” to change it.

Another “insider” told the news outlet that Meghan Markle “brushed him (Prince Harry) off.” The person further explained, “She told him, ‘It’s a wine launch, not a memorial.’” They added, “It didn’t land well.” The news outlet also reported that the Duke of Sussex is torn between honouring his late mother’s memory and being a supportive husband to his wife.

The “source” further claimed that Prince Harry feels “devastated.” The person continued, “That day means everything to him.” “To see it turned into a PR push hurts,” the “insider” added.
