Sydney Sweeney isn’t afraid of filming nude scenes because she loves a good challenge while picking her on-screen characters. In her cover story interview with W Magazine, the actor spoke her mind about not getting “nervous” while filming scenes that require her to be naked. Sweeney admitted to struggling with stage fright, but not when shooting nude sequences. In addition, she embraces the full prowess of her femininity and doesn’t back down from doing justice to the character’s story.
Sydney Sweeney opens up on bringing justice to her characters
Sydney Sweeney opened up about her take on nude scenes, claiming she has no objection to baring it all on screen. Her W Magazine interview was bold and served as an ideal platform for her to tackle the discussion surrounding her body. “I don’t get nervous,” Sweeney asserted, revealing she is comfortable with filming sequences naked. Saying so, she made her fearlessness evident when it comes to dressing down to nothing.
The “Anyone But You” star then explained that she believes “the female body is a very powerful thing.” Factoring this in, her focus has always revolved around leveraging the full might of the human body to translate the character’s story in all its depth and nuances. “I’m telling my character’s story, so I owe it to them to tell it well and to do what needs to be done,” she added.
However, Sweeney has been equally vocal about avoiding nudity when not necessary. In a 2022 interview with The Independent, she opened up about asking the “Euphoria” producers to exclude adding explicit scenes that seemed irrelevant to the storyline.
Before admitting to her lack of nerves while handling nude scenes, Sweeney also revealed her stage fright in the latest interview. “But I do have really bad stage fright,” she confessed, claiming she was “getting better now.” The star further applauded the efforts of those involved in “theater or live talk shows” as these terrify her.
Moreover, Sweeney addressed what fits the bill about the roles she leans toward. “If something scares me, then usually I’m going to do it,” she maintained, noting how she finds these challenging.
