Ellen Pompeo recently revealed how Taylor Swift wrote her the “biggest check” after her cameo in the music video for “Bad Blood.” During the April 2 episode of the “Jennifer Hudson Show,” the actor got candid about her connection with the pop star. Pompeo gushed over Swift and shared that she gets “cool points” with her kids after starring in the singer’s music video.
Calling Swift “such a good girl,” Pompeo added, “I didn’t know her and she invited me to be in the video and I thought, ‘Oh that would be fun.'” She stated that filming her cameo “was the easiest thing.” Pompeo then got candid about Swift’s support for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. It is where the actor and her husband, Ivery, “do a lot of volunteering.” She shared that the hospital has a program “where they make music for the babies in the NICU.”
Pompeo explained, “And for the parents who have to go to work all day and they can’t be with the kids.” The mom of three continued, “…they record their voices singing nursery rhymes or telling them stories.” The hospital then plays it “for the babies in the day when the parents can’t be there.” Pompeo added that the “babies respond to it” and it “makes their outcomes more positive.”
Furthermore, the television personality noted that running such a program needed money. Pompeo then revealed that she asked Swift if she could write her a “big old check for Children’s.” She recalled, “She knew me all but 20 minutes, and that girl wrote me the biggest check without blinking an eye.”
