The White House recently defended JD Vance against critics who claim that the US Vice President is absent from speaking on the ongoing Iran war. Vance has been a vocal critic of the US intervening in any foreign conflict in the past. However, he recently spoke to the media and expressed his support for Donald Trump’s decision to launch Operation Epic Fury.
White House defends JD Vance amid Iran war criticism
JD Vance recently received immense backlash for being away from the public eye amid the ongoing war against Iran. In his defense, a White House official recently came forward to speak with Fox News.
Critics have called out Vance for not being vocal about his take on Donald Trump’s decision to unleash Operation Epic Fury on Iran. Moreover, they claim that Vance is intentionally avoiding discussions of the matter, given his history of condemning such actions by the US.
Labeling the allegations made by critics “fake”, the White House official told the outlet, “This fake narrative is absolutely laughable to every single person who is in the know in Washington. It’s a classic mainstream media creation.”
On the other hand, Vance recently addressed claims suggesting that he might have doubts about the United States’ military action against Iran. While speaking to reporters at the Oval Office, Vance said, “You’re trying to drive a wedge between members of the administration, between me and the president. What the president has said consistently, going back to 2015, and I agree with them, is that Iran should not have a nuclear weapon.”
Vance further stated that Operation Epic Fury is being carried out “under the president’s leadership.” He also conveyed that he believes that “whether you’re a Democrat or Republican, should pray for success and pray for the safety of our troops. That’s the approach I’ve taken.”
